Who are we?

Our story began in 1919, when William Chicken first imported steel tubing from Europe to build bicycle frames. From those early beginnings we have grown into one of the UK’s leading distributors of premium cycling brands. The products we sell may have changed greatly over the last century, but our values have always remained the same: to offer market-leading products, competitive pricing, technical excellence and outstanding service.

Today, Chicken CycleKit is trusted by riders, retailers and suppliers alike. From world-class road wheels to performance saddles, finishing kit and technical clothing, our mission is to make the very best cycling equipment accessible to everyone who shares our passion for riding.

Over a century of heritage. We celebrated our centenary in 2019, marking more than 100 years in the UK cycling industry. Following a successful management buyout, we remain independent and well placed to build on that legacy while adapting to a fast-changing market. It marks a new chapter, but one firmly rooted in the values that have guided us since 1919.

Real cycling knowledge. Our staff are genuine riders who use, test and in some cases even help develop the products we supply. Four members of our technical team alone share almost a century of experience in the cycle trade.
